The Help: This heart wrenching tale of adversity is based on the book by Kathryn Stockett. The main character Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan (Emma Stone) decides to write a book about African American maids working in white households in Jackson, Mississippi, during the early 1960s. Through interviewing these women she learns of the inequality of most black maids working in her home town. This success story is the perfect accompaniment to a girly night in.
Midnight in Paris: This is Woody Allen's love letter to Paris. Many believe that this is his best and most beguiling film in years. Starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams this film highlights Paris' best features – this film is best watched on a rainy day.
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy: The film based on the 1974 British spy novel by John le Carré, has won several awards, and is hotly tipped to be a big winner at the Oscars. This stunningly captured film is thrilling and surprising - a real page turner. With intrigue, spies and a whole host of surprises you will be on the edge of your seat for the entire film.
Moneyball: Brad Pitt stars as Billy Beane, a scout for an Oakland baseball team, in this success story. Based on a true story the plot follows Beane and his attempt to transform his baseball team. As he strives to create the perfect team from a gaggle of misfits to super players he soon learns that his recipe for success will test his relationships to the limits, as even his daughter starts to question his ability to pull his master plan off.
Johnny English Reborn: This hilarious foray into the world of England's worst spy grossed a total of $159,270,879 worldwide. It was an incredibly successful sequel to the first amazing film. Rowan Atkinson plays his character to the max. Although not in the running for an Oscar, this film is certainly a laugh a minute.
