Some Celebrities Love to Smoke Electronic Cigarettes
Celebrities spend a great deal of time in California where smoking indoors is not allowed by law. Even the rich and famous have to abide by the law. For this reason, a large number of A-Listers are making the switch to electronic cigarettes. Although these battery-operated devices still contain nicotine, actual smoke is not produced and most public places allow e cigs.
In addition to being allowed to smoke more freely, some celebrities also appreciate the fact that e cigarettes are not as harmful to your health or appearance as traditional tobacco cigarettes. If you follow entertainment news, you may have heard about the ridicule Lindsey Lohan faced showing up on the carpet with yellow teeth. After a quick trip to the dentist and switching to e cigs, which was introduced to her by her father, the popular actress can be seen puffing away with a bright smile.
LiLo is not the only celebrity that has been photographed enjoying an electronic cigarette in recent years. Other well-known names have made the choice that is better for their health as well as the environment around them. Celebrities who have been spotted lighting up electronically include:
• Charlie Sheen - Obviously a fan of e cigs, Charlie Sheen has launched his own line of electronic cigarettes named NicoSheen.
• Eric Roberts - The actor was recently photographed with the Costello twins enjoying an e cigarette.
• Britney Spears - No stranger to the news, Britney Spears has been ridiculed for smoking around her children. Now an apparent e-smoker, she does not have to worry about offending anyone. In fact, smokeless cigarettes are becoming more and more popular among smokers who have children.
• Kate Moss - Caught on camera numerous times engaged in scandalous behavior, Kate Moss has been seen often puffing electronically. As often as this party girl has been seen with a cig in her hand, it was only a matter of time before she made the switch.
• Johnny Depp - This actor can actually be seen enjoying his electronic cig a number of times on screen in The Tourist, which also stars Angelina Jolie. In one scene, Depp is smoking on a train, which highlights the fact that traveling these days is more pleasant for smokers than it has ever been in the past. Known for his long-time smoking habit, fans are glad he has made the healthier choice.
• Katherine Heigl -Perhaps one of the most popular advocates for e smoking, star of both the big and small screen, Katherine Heigl made headlines when she lit up on Late Night with David Letterman. In fact, she seemed to enjoy it so much that she actually got the show's star David Letterman to take a puff.
• Kevin Federline - Best known as "Britney's Baby Daddy" and for his appearance on Celebrity Fit Club, Kevin Federline has made the electronic switch.
• Leonardo DiCaprio - A few years ago while riding his back through New York City, Leo was spotted with an electronic cig. As the rumors go, he was first introduced to the device when e cigarettes were passed out during the British Film Awards. Apparently, he liked what he smoked.
• Paris Hilton - Known for saying such things as "no publicity is bad publicity", Paris Hilton is always up to date with the latest trends, no matter if it is the clothes she wears, the bag she carries or the cigarettes she smokes. It is not surprising that the well-known heiress would find e cigs to be "hot".
• Taryn Manning - This girl has done it all. She sings, she writes, she acts, she has graced the pages of Playboy and she is a spokesperson for electronic cigarettes. Known for her roles in popular television shows such as Hawaii Five-O and Sons of Anarchy, she is even lovelier with an e cig in her hand.
• Tom Petty - At almost sixty-years-old, Tom Petty is still known as one of the greatest rock musicians in the world. He says his e cigarette "takes the edge off smoking".
• Kevin Connolly - Star of the hit show Entourage Connolly chose the healthy alternative to cigarettes.
• Ryan Seacrest - Television host, network producer and radio personality Ryan Seacrest has also been spotted enjoying cigarettes of the electronic variety.
The initial surprise comes when smokers realize that there is a safer more publicly accepted alternative to tobacco cigarettes. It is as if the door to an entirely new world opens up to them. They are surprised yet again when they discover how many of their favorite celebs are puffing on electronic cigarettes. With the number of radio, television and movie stars partaking in the trend, it is likely that Charlie Sheen was right to think that e cigs are the future of smoking.
