RnB Beat Production

RnB (also known as R&B or Rhythm and Blues) is a very popular music genre that combines jazz, blues and gospel influences. It was first performed by African American artists. Because of the popularity there are many musicians producing RnB beats trying to make a living out of it. A beat or instrumental is a song without the lyrics. Singers and rappers need these beats to show their skills to the world.

How to produce RnB beats.

First of all, here is some basic information about industry standard music. But keep in mind that there are no rules, just guidelines.
In almost all cases an RnB beat consists of a chorus and a verse. The verse sounds softer and the lyrics are different from every other verse in that song. The chorus is the louder, active and wider part of the beat that contrasts the verse melodically. Sometimes an RnB beat starts with the chorus to get the attention of the listener. The chorus returns a few times and the singer or rapper repeats the same lyrics in every chorus. This part usually sticks in people's minds. An RnB beat could look like this. verse 1 - chorus - verse 2 - chorus - verse 3 - chorus - chorus

5 Successful Ways Of Getting Your Music Heard!

I got this tweet the other day talking to an artist on Twitter. Mind you I'm networking with someone who might buy beats from me and who I can continue to make music with. All the sudden this gets sent to both of us - completely driving a wedge between our conversation. This has happened to me time and time again and I finally decided to tweet back. All the response said was "Sorry just promo".

That got me thinking and I decided to write something on the topic of helping artists of any kind get their music out there to the public in a respectful and more productive matter.

1. Networking

This is by far one of the most important things you need to do online or offline to get your music heard. Nobody wants someone spamming them. You have to remember music is personal. So that's how you have to operate your business. At a personal level. Treat people like people and respect - Not a sale!

3 Tips for Putting a Band Together

I'm most certain that at some time or another, the thought of starting up a band and playing some live shows has crossed your mind. If you enjoy music like I do and have a passion for playing a musical instrument, there is a chance that you have given some thought to forming your own band. In this article, I am going to share 3 important tips that helped me when I first started out in the music industry. Like all things in life, nothing is easy, but with a little bit of hard work we can achieve anything we put our minds to.

The first tip I would like to share with you is very important. All functioning band's that are serious about what they do and want to succeed should always hold band meetings. That's right, bands should also hold meetings so that everyone understands what the bands goals are and how they are going to achieve them. Having short-term as well as long-term goals is a vital part of the bands overall success. If you plan on making it anywhere in this industry - you need to hold weekly meetings.

Singing for Your Supper Oliver?

To become a famous child singer, you can forget about American Idol. They don't go for kiddies. It is assumed the Kid Singer is younger than ten. The easiest way to break into this industry is to be part of a famous group of singers. Donny Osmond had older siblings who could really sing and he rode their coattails to fame along with his sister Marie, but before that it was The Osmonds who were on TV. This also worked for Michael Jackson when he was with his brothers The Jackson Five. Of course it helped that they both had tremendous talent, but talent alone will not a famous kid make.

You need a good agent, and for the child singer, that is most likely going to be the father. For every Beyonce or Michael, there is a Joe Jackson or Matthew Knowles. These agent/dads work very well in the beginning of their careers, however rarely work out once the child achieves fame. Divas and Dads don't mix very well.

Guitar Buying Tips

Solid body, or hollow body. Single cutaway or double cutaway. Humbuckers, or single coil pickups. Gibson, or Fender. So many questions come up in a guitarists mind when searching for a new guitar to buy. The real question is, "How do I figure out which guitar to buy?"

Let's have a look at some very important key features to look at when deciding which axe will become yours.

Wood

Guitars are made out of many different types of wood depending on how the manufacturer intended the guitar to sound like. There are mahogany, maple, cherry, spruce, and many more types of wood used to make the body of a guitar. Each different wood has a particular set of tones that resonates through it, producing much different sounds than other woods. The only real way to figure out which type of wood your guitar should be is to try a bunch, and pick the tones that sound best to you. After all, you will be the one who has to listen to it the most. Some woods are stronger and heavier than others, making them a better choice for the longevity of the instrument. They tend to produce less dynamic tones overall though, so you must weigh the benefits vs. The shortfalls of each before you decide.

TuneUpMedia: What Does It Take to Be the Number One iTunes Plugin?

Since its release in 2008, TuneUp has been the most popular plugin for iTunes by helping people to clean up their music libraries; by organizing songs, deleting duplicates and replacing missing cover art. The company is one of the few digital music services with all of the necessary tools needed to be an industry leader: a much needed service, exceptional leadership, funding and great marketing.

Founder Gabe Adiv who spent five years in sales and channel marketing at Gracenote, is one of the few entrepreneurs that I have seen personally offering free trials to the readers of just about every blog that TuneUp is mentioned in. If you want some humor, you should check out TuneUp's YouTube Channel which has some of the funniest video I've seen in a while, with Hip-Hop Legend Biz Markie starring as Captain TuneUp. Below is an interview I had the last week with TuneUp Media's director of Marketing Attiya Abdulghany.

Switching From a Karaoke Machine and Discs To a Laptop and Karaoke Files

Anyone who has performed karaoke shows with a disc based system knows how much of a nuisance discs can be. Loading discs in and out of the machine, storing them, keeping them clean, and hauling them around is not a lot of fun. The typical karaoke host may have hundreds of discs to deal with. Also, karaoke disc players have very limited features.

The solution to this dilemma is a computerized karaoke system. Do away with discs while storing all your karaoke songs on a hard drive that could fit in your back pocket. Just imagine having no more discs to load, store, and maintain. But that is just the beginning. Karaoke hosting software offers features not possible with a disc player that can really add to the quality of your shows.

The process of switching to a computerized system is not difficult or complicated but it is time consuming at first. How time consuming depends on the number of discs you have as you must "rip" the song tracks from each one. Fortunately, professional disc ripping software can connect to free online karaoke song databases and automatically name the song files.

Non-Music Courses That Can Help Your Music Career

Sociology
Sociology is essentially the study or how people behave in groups. Why is this useful? Well, this means you'll have a stronger understanding of the dynamics that take place within an office, a band, or a group of fans. Understanding how people think, behave, and make decisions when they are in a group of people, can help you understand how to market to teens that often value the opinions of their peers. It can help you understand how to effectively take the lead on a group project, or make sure every contributor gets a chance to be heard. Of course, I'm not saying any one sociology class will give you all the answers, but it will give you clearer understanding of group behaviors and tools for working with groups in the future.

Psychology
Like sociology, psychology classes can help you understand the way people's minds work. It's a great skill to have in general, but especially when it comes to working with creative people. There are several areas of psychology that deal with everything from personality to addictions. Some psychology classes will even combine marketing and psychology and allow you to learn the psychology aspects of advertising and communication. These courses teach the psychology of marketing and study, for example, why we tune out certain advertisements, how to appeal to certain personality traits, and how men and women view things differently.

Recording Guitar In The Studio

Do you want to increase your chances of "making it" in the music industry and getting into a successful band? You probably already know that it takes a large number of things to reach such an ambitious goal. One of the most overlooked skills that you must acquire to make this dream a reality is the ability to record your musical parts very well in the studio. Developing this skill will make it much easier for you to get attractive opportunities to advance your music career.

Unfortunately, most guitarists don't begin to consider the importance of developing their studio recording abilities until they feel the pressure of recording in such an environment for the first time. No matter how well you can play music for yourself (or even on stage), walking into the studio to record your first album will make you aware of the hidden flaws in your guitar playing that you never knew you had. This happens because the skills needed to record guitar well in the studio are very unique and require you to pay attention to fine details that many musicians never consider. One of the most frustrating experiences for musicians is having good musical (and guitar playing) skills but struggling greatly to record even very basic guitar parts "perfectly". This situation is very common for many guitarists who are new to recording.

Are U Experienced and Jimmy Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix Experience's first album was released in the UK in May of 1967, and in the US in September of 1967. It was recorded in London, England, both at De Lane Lea and the more expensive Olympic Studios. It was engineered by Dave Siddle, Eddie Kramer (at Olympic Studios) and Mike Ross on four-track equipment, the standerd of the day. Jimi's manager Chas Chandler was very important in the recordings, acting as both the producer but also as a mentor for Jimi's songwriting. Chas, being the former bassplayer with The Animals, had recording experience. He had a great impact on how the album was recorded.

Are You Experienced is recognized as one of the greatest debut albums of all time, and consists of only original material written exclusively by Jimi. It spans across a wide musical spectrum, from the traditional 12-bar blues (UK-edition) to experimental and avant-garde recordings like the title tune "Are you Experienced", and the strange "3rd stone from the Sun". "Manic Depression" is played in 3/4 time, and is considered the "ultimate rock'n roll-waltz" by many. The UK edition and the US edition are not similar, for one reason or the other. The cover photos are also different

The Sport Of Rock And Roll

Expert Author Neal R Warner

Musicians these days are complaining that the financial consideration of being a musician has been lost from the equation. Anything that can be digitally recorded; music, art, movies, etc., is now considered free to the public. This digital genie cannot be returned to the bottle and some fear it will do to the music business as a whole what pay for play did to the music scene in Los Angeles.
The last substantial music scene in L.A. was the Sunset Strip Heavy Metal scene back in the Eighties. Guns and Roses emerged from that scene and were the last L.A. band to achieve any national success. That Los Angeles (Hollywood), the capital of entertainment doesn't have a vibrant national music scene is as shocking as the fact that it doesn't have a professional football team. At least sports are not threatened by the rise of digital media. Why is that?
The difference between a televised football or basketball game and a CD of music or a recorded rock concert is that the sporting event needs to be viewed in real time. It is not the athletics themselves but the outcome that is the important draw. Sports fans watch games to see how they'll end. There is only minimal interest in viewing sporting events multiple times as the ending needs to be viewed as it happens.
